Kids TV Shows News | Doodlebops Back on TV in New Animated Series

Remember the Doodlebops? It wasn’t that long ago that this kids' TV show aired on Disney Channel. There was DeeDee Doodle, all pink, purple and pretty, Moe Doodle, the red and orange guy and of course, Rooney, the blue, guitar playing Doodle. They delighted preschoolers with their antics and music. Well they’re back, and this time they’re in an animated kids’ show.

Doodlebops Rockin’ Road Show premiers April 3, 2010 on the CBS’ Saturday morning kids’ block. Cookie Jar Entertainment produces this kids’ series, as well as provides the entire CBS kids’ TV lineup. Jamie Waese, creative producer and writer for the new Doodlebops series explains the new Doodlebops this way:

The Doodlebops’ Rockin’ Road Show follows Deedee, Rooney and Moe’s adventures through the Doodle-net, an animated wonderland loosely inspired by The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine. Along with their pal Bus Driver Bob and their new dog Bop Bop, the Doodlebops help their fans solve preschool-relatable problems by hopping on their magical tour bus and journeying to a fun new destination in each episode. Each of the 26 half-hour episodes features two original songs by the cast members of the live-action show who also voice the animated characters.
Music was always an import part of the original Doodlebops TV show, so it’s good to see the new show will continue the tradition.
