Kids TV Shows News | “Up” wins Oscar as Best Animated Feature

The votes are in and tallied and “Up,” the Disney/Pixar’s 2009 smash hit has taken home not one, but two Oscars – Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score. If you haven’t seen this delightful film already, no problems. Up is already out on DVD and becoming a Kids TV favorite.


"Up" is one of those films that hits every note just right. It’s a great buddy film, love story and underdog makes good film that makes you want to jump up and cheer. The animations is... well, it's from Pixar, so enough said. And it’s one of those films that kids and adults and love.

Carl Fredricksen, voiced by Ed Asner, is a curmudgeonly, retired balloon salesman who sets out on a quest to fulfill his and his deceased wife’s dream of adventure. Hitching his house to the biggest bouquet of balloons imaginable, he sets his course, unaware he has a stowaway. Russell, voiced Jordan Nagai, and Carl are in for an awesome adventure that neither they nor the audience will forgot.

Up” competed against four other films this year for the Best Animated Feature statue: “Coraline,” “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “The Princess andthe Frog" and "The Secret of Kells."
